Sources before stories
We favour statutes, courts, regulators, veterinary organizations and established animal-welfare organizations. Every original article links its evidence. A source headline on our radar is a pointer, not independent verification.
Facts and perspective, side by side
AI-assisted reporting is labelled. Original commentary is separated from sourced facts. A separate AI review checks generated articles before publication; it is not a substitute for expert or human review. If evidence is insufficient, the draft stays private.
Legal precision matters
We distinguish proposals from enacted laws and effective dates from announcement dates. Sentience recognition does not necessarily remove the application of property law. Allegations are not findings, and a finding in one jurisdiction is not a finding everywhere.
Care information, thoughtfully
Care guides help readers notice changes and find professional sources. They do not diagnose an animal or prescribe treatment. Urgent or worrying symptoms should be assessed by a veterinarian familiar with the species.
Freshness without pretending
Collection timestamps describe actual successful checks. Source publication dates stay separate from our publication date. New evidence may result in a source pointer, a checked article, or a held draft. We do not manufacture news to fill a daily quota.
Pictures with provenance
Our launch artwork is the owner’s existing Animal Love Society logo, recovered from its Bluehost media library. It is an illustration, not a photograph. Future photographs must be authentic and carry creator, source and licence or permission information.
